Why We Built Nudge Kids
At Nudge Kids, we believe parenting shouldn’t feel like guesswork. Kids thrive with structure, and parents thrive with support. Our system is built to deliver both.
The idea behind Nudge Kids was born decades ago, not in a lab, but in a real home. As a newly trained clinical psychologist and young mother, Dr. Jane Chan wanted to raise her children with intention. She used everything she learned at Harvard and Columbia, alongside years of clinical training, to create a system that taught her kids independence, self-worth, and daily responsibility.
That system worked. Her children grew up with it. And now, one of them - Eric, the founder of Nudge Kids - is bringing it to life for a new generation of families.
Together, we’ve built Nudge Kids to help you:
Set clear, healthy boundaries without nagging
Teach your child to take ownership of their routines
Raise empowered and capable children
Parenting shouldn’t feel like survival mode. You and your child are more capable than you think.
Dr. Jane, the PhD psychologist behind Nudge Kids
Dr. Jane Chan is a clinical psychologist, parenting mentor, and longtime advocate for raising capable, emotionally grounded children. With over 30 years of experience and a deep well of academic and clinical training from Harvard and Columbia, Jane has helped hundreds of families navigate the unpredictable, joyful, and often overwhelming world of parenting.
But her most tested system didn’t come from a textbook—it came from raising three children of her own.
As a young mother and newly minted psychologist, Jane felt the weight of parenting without a manual. She used her clinical training to build a system rooted in structure, empathy, and skill-building - one that would help her children grow into self-reliant, emotionally intelligent contributors to the world. That system, used every day in her home, became the foundation of what is now Nudge Kids.
Jane’s philosophy is simple but powerful: Kids thrive when they know what’s expected. Parents thrive when they feel supported. The key is finding the “just right” balance - guiding without overpowering, supporting without rescuing. That’s how children build confidence, resilience, and healthy self-esteem.
Nudge Kids is a continuation of that life’s work..
